Well its finally done, the fall professional development schedule is complete. Scheduling has been a nightmare as I broke my arm at the elbow and need to work around my physical therapy schedule. I am so glad it is done, now I need to make sure all my materials are ready. Lets hope people come. I have been doing some searching for lesson plan templates for my husband. In my searches I came across Planbook. A program, currently Mac only, that is a modern dynamic plan book. Where was this when I was a classroom teacher? In bloglines this morning I find that Jim Coe of Bionic Teaching has a nice review of the program.

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to help twenty four k-12 teachers from Plymouth Public Schools enter Second Life. These teachers are part of the Lighthouse Learning project. It is was so much fun to see them be so willing to try something so different. I think they are off to a great start. Tim Stahmer of Assorted Stuff has written about an educational consultant. This consultant recommends that we need to recruit teachers from the top college graduates (Duh!). One of the countries he mentions that does this is South Korea. I used to live and work in Seoul. The Discovery Educator Network officially opened its doors in Second Life. There were up to 63 avatars an any one time at the event, I guess maybe 100 people came through the DEN that evening.
