Back to School Stress

Back to School Stress

I do not know about you but I come home from school now physically and mentally exhausted. I just have enough energy to hug my kids, feed them take out, and hit the hay. I know in a couple of weeks it becomes the usual busy. In three days I have not accomplished 1 thing on my ‘to do’ list. I have just been reacting to other peoples needs and wants. It seems many have forgotten the niceties of hello, thank you and please.

This morning I took a support call that made me chuckle but also realize how much stress a new teacher is under. The teacher calls and is very upset that he can not log into the network. He is telling me how this is preventing him from doing his work, that our department is so dysfunctional and can’t do anything right…Yada yada yada. Anyway I tell him to log in using his lastname_firstname, he assures me he is doing that. I want to check to make sure his name was entered into our database correctly and ask him to spell what he is typing. Can you see it coming? L, A, S, T…. he was actually typing in lastname_firstname and not his actual name… it dawns on him what he is doing, he says ‘I got it’ and hangs up. I hope the rest of his day went better. We all can use the upcoming weekend. In our department we have a saying… refresh, reboot, reimage… in other words relax. Enjoy
