Distracted

Distracted

I set out on a personal research journey and got distracted on the way.  I just got started, how could that happen?

I have been reading a wide range of stuff; the history of education, traditional vs non traditional ways of learning, education and democracy, and information on literacy (known by a variety of terms).  I just keep reading, and reading and reading.  But I am still wandering aimlessly and the list of questions keeps growing, I am not finding answers or direction.  I keep trying to find an area of direction to focus my efforts  but so far it eludes me.

  1. Focus?

As I teacher, I find it hard to focus in general. So I spend a good portion of my time procrastinating or reading other people’s thoughts on Blogs like yours! Instead, I’m just setting goals for myself – like, “where do you want to be in five years?”

Now I feel like I’m finally making some headway towards where I want to be as a teacher. You can read a lot, but the bottom line is if you’re happy with what you’re doing and where you’re at.

    Hope that helps!

  2. Beth – Thank you for this post! I happen to be in almost the same place and have been wondering how to pull myself out of reading, thinking, reading, thinking and drive myself to organize and write. Good luck.
