Meeting People at MassCUE, what do you do?

Meeting People at MassCUE, what do you do?

I just came back from lunch and a trip around the exhibit hall. And thought I’d get some thoughts down while I am waiting for the next session to begin. After meeting a bunch of people I had an interesting thought. Many of us sort of have an identity crisis. Most people here when describing what they do have trouble, they give a long list that might include any of the following… I am the computer teacher, a technology integration…

MassCUE Keynote Deenen Fraizer Bowen

MassCUE Keynote Deenen Fraizer Bowen

Here goes my first attempt at blogging during a presentation. A good friend is unable to attend the MassCUE conference so I am taking notes for her but thought I could share them with everyone, why not it is just a few extra clicks. Notes on the opening Keynote by Deneen Fraizer Bowen. This is a piece of performance art with a message. Deneen Fraizer Bowen arrived as Dr. Priscilla Normal, acting to replace the radical Deneen. I’ll be attending the MassCUE conference this week. I am looking forward to many of the workshops and speakers. I always learn much from talking to everyone. I get some of my best ideas from the conversations at lunch. Hope to see some of you there.

These thoughts also reflect some of the discussions in a course I am currently teaching where some our concerned we are loosing the human contact that…

Keta Erosion.jpg Originally uploaded by bknittle. Today I took some time to play with flicker. I have had an account for a while but never had time to explore the features from a teacher’s perspective. After watching the presentation on flickr by Jeff Utecht at the K12 Conference Online, I decided to try out the map features. Like Jeff I have worked as an overseas educator. I have lived or travelled in many places; Ghana, Jordan, Korea, Thailand, England, Syria,…

Linerider – some fun

Linerider – some fun

A simple experiment in art, created for one student’s illustration course, Line Rider is a unique online toy which allows users to hurtle a hapless scarf-clad man down steep hills of dizzying height, huge jumps, and end over end flips with just a pencil. The Tech Savvy Educator I needed a good laugh and really enjoyed this. I’ll think about the educational implacations later. Thanks Ben ! Blogged with Flock
