Everybody Blog Now

Everybody Blog Now

This Friday I am going to begin a series of blogging workshops entitled Blogging for Professional Development and Personal Growth. About 30 administrators and teachers have agreed to an 8 week blogging experience. I once heard it takes a month to develop a habit, so I figure 2 months for good measure. During the workshops participants will set up a bloglines account, create a blog on edublogs, and discuss the experience thru the blogs and in face-to-face meetings. They will…

A Year of Blogging

A Year of Blogging

On December 24th 2005 I began to blog, this was my first post. “This is the beginning of my blog. I have been reading many blogs and have learned so much from them. I also learn so much from my colleagues. I hope to share some of their best practices in using technology in the classroom.” It has been almost a year since I began ‘uploading’ my ideas for others to see. It has been quite an experience. Thanks for the mention!

Thanks for the mention!

I was quite surpirsed this morning when I read the Discovery Educator Network Blog, there was a post about the 2006 Edublog awards call for nominations written by Steve Dembo of Teach42. Steve was making suggestions for nominees and my blog was on the list! I sometimes forget that some people actually read the blog. (That is why I added the map, I need to remind myself.) I just want to thank Steve for the thought, I am honored.

Is it still about integration?

My question is what should teachers be thinking of as they are working through ways to modernize their classrooms. Should they be thinking of the machines? Or is…

The Flat World

The Flat World

Back in 2005, it seems so long ago. I was a MS science teacher, and I read The World is Flat by Thomas L Friedman. I had also just spent 10 years of my life working and living overseas as a global nomad and became the parent of third culture kids. I read the book with a different perspective then I would today. Now I have left the classroom to become a technology integration specialist, I can hear David Warlick…
