\nMany schools and individuals use Google Apps to collaborate and work online. GoDocs<\/a> is an app to allows you to access and work with your Google Docs. I like this one.\u00a0 Nice lay out, good functionality and nice integration with Google+.\u00a0 You can edit, upload and download your docs. You can even open with another application like pages and numbers.\u00a0 I like that I can access my work from anywhere and make a quick edit or addition if necessary.\u00a0 For real productivity I would use an eternal keyboard, but that is a limitation of my fingers not the program. If you use Google docs – this is a must app.<\/p>\n
\nInstapaper<\/a> allows you to read webpages later off line.\u00a0 You can read and bookmark from a computer, iPad and Kindle.\u00a0 There is an app for your mobile device to read your saved pages.\u00a0 Instapaper also works nicely with the iChromy<\/a> browser. I tend to check my email, twitter, plurk streams and scan my reader.\u00a0 I do not have constant wireless access so I would be helpful to mark the ones I want to read later when I do not have connectivity. I find it useful and easy to use.\u00a0 The tough part for me will be to add it to my routine.\u00a0 I am a creature of habit and they change slowly. \nIn my district we use Groupwise, the basic interface for web is useable on the iPad but does not take advantage of the iPad’s real-estate.\u00a0 The\u00a0 GW Mail & GW Calendar<\/a> apps by Ghost Pattern Software has a much easier to use and view interface.\u00a0 I much prefer it to the current basic web interface provide by Novell<\/a>.\u00a0 the only draw back I can see now is that I can not access my proxies easily,\u00a0 I have far to many email accounts that I do not want to log in and out to see each account.\u00a0 But for access on the go to my primary account\u00a0 I will continue to use these.<\/p>\n
\nI took iMovie<\/a> for a spin recording around the house and yard and then used iMovie to edit.\u00a0 The app is similar to the desktop application.\u00a0 If you are comfortable using iMovie on the desktop you will be on the iPad.\u00a0 With the iPad’s memory you are going to want to clean out your video clips now and again, you won’t be storing your work like you do on your computer.<\/p>\n
\nI do not have a musical bone in my body but I spent a good 3 hrs at a time playing around with garageband<\/a>.\u00a0 I created, saved and and edit music and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I found using the app easier then using the desktop version.\u00a0 Students should feel inspired and empowered to create their own music to add to their presentation and also just for the sake of making music.<\/p>\n
