I have been looking over a variety of apps for the iPad. Here is what I have been playing with thus far.\u00a0 If you have any suggestions I would appreciate you commenting below.<\/p>\n
Browsers: Note Taking: If you like to hand write notes and create diagrams – penultimate<\/a> works great.\u00a0 You can choose different pen styles.\u00a0 I do not have a stylus but I borrowed one.\u00a0 Writing is much easier and neater with a stylus less so with my finger.\u00a0 You can email pages or a whole note book as a way to share your work. Personally I would not use this app.\u00a0 My handwriting is so poor that its illegible to any one but me.\u00a0\u00a0 I know notes are primarily for personal use, but if I had to share them I would need to type them up for others. If you have half way decent handwriting this app would be pretty compelling.<\/p>\n Audiotorium<\/a> allows you to record audio notes, as well as, type in text.\u00a0 You can create categories for your notes and the recording or text entries are automatically given a date and time stamp.\u00a0 I like the look of the app it is easy on these old, tired eyes. You can down load docs to Audiotorium and it can be configured to synch with your dropbox. As an avid dropbox<\/a> user I find this feature appealing.<\/p>\n Upad<\/a> allows you to hand write or type text.\u00a0 It has a nice look and feel,\u00a0 and there are different pen features including high lighting.\u00a0 You can not record audio as you can with Audiotorium. You can export to PDF, email, twitter, and facebook.<\/p>\n Notebook<\/a> allows you to type, draw and add stickers. Each entry is a text box on the canvas\/page. I personally do not like having lots of little text\/image boxes on a page, though I know many who love the flexibility.<\/p>\n
\nI have been looking at iChromy<\/a> as an alternative browser for the ipad.\u00a0 I like the tabs in the browser, instead of the window switch of Safari.\u00a0 I also like the read later feature to view web pages offline.\u00a0 If you are roaming though a school with spotty wireless coverage this could come in handy.\u00a0 iChromy also has nice sharing features with diigo<\/a> (who make iChromy) but also works well with twitter, Google reader and Instapaper<\/a> which I am also playing with.<\/p>\n
\nI am also taking 5 note taking utilities for a spin; Penultimate, Audiotorium, Upad, Notebook and, Notability.<\/p>\n
