A parent is a child&#8217;s first educator, who remains their primary educator through out their life.\u00a0 I remember when I was a new classroom teacher I cringed when ever I would get a note in my mailbox asking me to call a parent.\u00a0 I used to wonder what now.\u00a0 But having been a parent for 16 years, and a paid educator going on 30 years, I have a much different perspective.<\/p>\n<p>How much do we welcome parents in our classrooms?\u00a0 Do we just want them back up our policies on homework and classroom rules?\u00a0 Do we want them discuss how their children learn or what strategies work best for them?\u00a0 Honestly do you welcome their comments and suggestions?
