{"id":756,"date":"2010-01-31T10:13:28","date_gmt":"2010-01-31T15:13:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bethknittle.net\/WP_Blog\/?p=756"},"modified":"2010-01-31T10:13:28","modified_gmt":"2010-01-31T15:13:28","slug":"educon-reflections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bethknittle.net\/WP_Blog\/?p=756","title":{"rendered":"EduCon Reflections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am attending <a href=\"http:\/\/www.educon22.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">EduCon 2.2<\/a> and just getting ready to start the final day.\u00a0 Yesterday I had the privilege to facilitate a conversation with <a href=\"http:\/\/magistram.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Danja Mahoney<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/profespringer.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Springer<\/a>, and chat with some of the smartest most thoughtful educators around. Our topic was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.educon22.org\/conversations\/Subversive_PD_Creating_a_culture_of_collaboration_to_bring_educators_into_the_21st_Century\" target=\"_blank\">Subversive PD: <\/a>Creating a culture of collaboration to bring educators into the 21st century.\u00a0 Our focus was looking for strategies that work, in the absence of administrative and teacher support and\/or awareness, to foster professional growth. Are there ways that we, as individuals, can help drive change in our hallways, schools and districts? We had a great turn out, which frankly surprised me.\u00a0 Discussion notes can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/subversivepd.wikispaces.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">session wiki<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What I love about EduCon is that it takes the best part of traditional conferences, those wonderful thoughtful hallway conversations and makes them last for three days.
