On December 24th 2005 I began to blog, this was my first post.<\/p>\n
“This is the beginning of my blog. I have been reading many blogs and have learned so much from them. I also learn so much from my colleagues. I hope to share some of their best practices in using technology in the classroom.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
It has been almost a year since I began ‘uploading’ my ideas for others to see. It has been quite an experience. I began blogging so I could learn the mechanics of the medium and pass on those skills to the teachers I support. I needed a topic to write about so I chose to focus on Universal Design, Technology and Learning, subjects I am passionate about. I continue to blog because I am hooked.<\/p>\n
I have spent the last few days reading the year’s worth of writings. For the most part I stayed true to my intended subject, but I do see that I am beginning to divert my attention to other related topics. A result of learning and growth I suspect. The more I read and write, the more my thinking changes. Blogging, I believe, has also helped me to improve as a writer. I struggle with writing, I find it very difficult. My former English teachers would whole heartedly agree writing is not my strong point.<\/p>\n
Where will the blog and I go in the next year? I would like to change the look of the blog, make it lighter and more open. I am working on a wiki of links I use all the time. I hope to link the wiki to the blog soon. I would like to post more often, keeping a record of my travels in the blogosphere and changes in my thinking. I want to respond to other blogs more often. I want to be a better writer.<\/p>\n
Regrets? The name, I am not very creative and wish I had a cool name like Bump on the Blog<\/a>, Blue Skunk Blog<\/a>, Bit by Bit<\/a>, and My Own Reality<\/a>. Is it too late to change? What would I call it, any ideas?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
