So Becky, a fellow Ed Tech team member from my district took these notes.  (Becky it is time to get your own blog)<\/p>\n<p>David Warlick has be on since 8:30 and this session goes till 12:20 how does he keep going.  His third session is entitled Harnessing the New Shape of Information, covers many web 2.0 tools. Handouts for the presentation can be found at this <a href=\"http:\/\/davidwarlick.com\/wiki\/pmwiki.php?n=Main.HarnessingTheNewShapeOfInformation\" target=\"_blank\">wiki space<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Podcaster Con<\/strong><br \/>\nDavid talks about the Podcaster Con in Jan 2006 first ever<br \/>\n&#8211;  it was a get together and &#8216;geek out&#8217; a sort of un-conference.<br \/>\n&#8211; 2 weeks prior a wiki page was set up requesting essential questions about podcasting in education to be posted on the 1st day 2 question on education in Europe<br \/>\n-link on conference site to his wiki<br \/>\n&#8211; 295 in keynote had podcasting equipment<br \/>\n&#8211; assigned groups to record 6 questions<br \/>\nposted to webpage designed ot scour internet for edublogs, multiple blogs posted about podcastercon.<\/p>\n<p>David&#8217;s Opinion:  Something big is getting ready to happen to change heh educational Landscape with Web 2.0 tools.<br \/>\nIt began in the 18th century with the Pamphlet movement, as paper became cheap literacy increased.<br \/>\nFast forward to the 21st century with the advent of such tools as blogger.com, the publishing cost is $0 and it caused an increase in digital literacy.<\/p>\n<p>There is a new sense of citizen journalism it is changing how we do things.<br \/>\nBlogs need a goal to be successful. In Mobilblogging (moblogging) errors may be present.  Beth was moblogging an earlier keynote. David mentions that yesterday after Will Richardson&#8217;s presentation a women came up to him to thank him for just commenting on her blog.  (That was me, I feel honored)<\/p>\n<p>David&#8217;s goals for his blogging<br \/>\n**Holy mission to retool education for the 21st century<br \/>\n** Income generator<\/p>\n<p>There is very little technology involved in blogging, it is a transparent very unimpressive process.  Site admin, write, publish<\/p>\n<p>Bogging transforms a writing assignment into a communication, kids want to communicate, it is an intrinsic human need. They want to do it, want to do it well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Content as Conversation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tools designed to help make instant publishing less scary for educators<br \/>\nePals<br \/>\nGaggle-student emails safely<br \/>\nImbee &#8211; Free<br \/>\nClassBlogmeister David&#8217;s free safe blogging environment<\/p>\n<p>It is literacy because it is communication<br \/>\nBlogging is a life long learning engine<\/p>\n<p>How to find a blog: Technorati, blogpulse.com<br \/>\nYour blog is successful if 2000 readers, apply for google ads and earns money<br \/>\n<strong>Content is conversation<\/strong><br \/>\nSize doesn&#8217;t matter!
