{"id":1022,"date":"2012-02-18T20:45:32","date_gmt":"2012-02-19T01:45:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bethknittle.net\/WP_Blog\/?p=1022"},"modified":"2012-02-18T20:45:32","modified_gmt":"2012-02-19T01:45:32","slug":"creating-digital-content","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bethknittle.net\/WP_Blog\/?p=1022","title":{"rendered":"Creating Digital Content"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is much talk these days about abandoing\u00a0traditional\u00a0publishers and having teachers create their own content. \u00a0There are many tools that make this possible, but just because it can be done, does not mean that it should be done. \u00a0Having been a classroom teacher for almost 20 years and with increasing record keeping (data collection) I am not sure when a teacher can add this to their to do list.<\/p>\n<p>If a district did wish to create their own digital content or texts is would make more sense to combine it with\u00a0curriculum\u00a0writing and be part of group effort. \u00a0As schools review the new common core and adjust their existing curriculum they should begin collecting resources, images,video and text. Gathering the material to be used is the most time consuming part.
